Description: The project brief was to extend an existing stone Victorian ‘villa’ in rural Lothersdale, Yorkshire with traditional vernacular stonework details (built sustainably from re-purposed stone salvaged from demolished out-buildings, garden walls and patios on site), contrasted with a more contemporary looking ashlar limestone-clad and glazed-wall swimming pool extension. The new pool is to be dug into the existing sloping hillside garden and will be set within a terraced limestone ‘scree-bed’ landscape  – all part of a refurbished existing walled garden. Pool and space heating is by Air Source Heat Pump with roof-mounted PV solar system. Project photos to be added as ongoing.
