Description: Working in a joint venture as the lead Project Design Director for Sri Lankan developers Airport Express Air & Rail Company, (AEAARC).  Atoll are two years into a long-term plan advising AEAARC on the development of their initial feasibility and business plan for two private 150 acre garden city / new towns called ‘Integrated Urban Townships’ at Bopitiya and Kerawalapitiya in Sri Lanka. Both projects are linked to AEAARC proposed new high speed train between Katunanayake airport and capital Colombo that is currently seeking final approval from the Sri Lankan government. Appointed design architects recently engaged to collaborate with Atoll are Altrincham-based Calder Peel FGP. The total project costs for the mixed developments (excluding the high speed rail link element) are anticipated to be in the region of $USD 700 million. Calder Peel FGP have recently developed a masterplan feasibility of Bopitiya township for AEAARC to begin with.
